Bout 010 (Video/Action): Badges upon badges. (backdated to Tue. 6/14)

[The video opens in medias res, with a casual conversation going on in the Olivine Pokémon Center. It's not quite loud enough to hear any of the words, though. After a second or two, Chie orients the video on herself.]

Oh, hey, has anybody else noticed how the gym leaders are a little... weird? Me and my friends all challenged Jasmine today, so we could get the Surf TM and cross Route... 42, I think it was? And Jasmine gave us all the same lines from beginning to end. She was all like, "Properly tempered steel won't be made rusty by things like this!" And "You are a better trainer than me, in both skill and kindness." Like she was reading off a script or something!

But anyway, we all made it! I got Ecruteak's badge too, when we stopped there on Friday, so I'm up to four! [Chie shows off two badges to the camera.]



For anybody who's following our quest to rescue Souji-kun, we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning on the way back to Ecruteak. And from there, it's through Mahogany and on to the Ice Path! Just hold on, Souji-kun, we won't make you wait too much longer!

Yeah, I've kinda wondered that too. I mean, obviously it's not the same, but... There are those weird similarities.

It's kinda like... well, if you took most of the other things in the other world -- you know, like the realistic crap like the castle or the strip club.... and then meshed it with all the weirdo crap we found where Mitsuo was hiding out.

It's really kind of freaky sometimes. It can't be normal - I mean, I know it's not already, but just... this can't be a regular other world like the rest of the people brought here come from, you know?

Ugh, don't even remind me about his place.

[She frowns and leans back, arms crossed.] I know what you mean, though. It's like... whoever or whatever brought us here made this world, just to put us into. But why?

I dunno. To screw with us, maybe... [Another pause, and then a memory of Ameno-Sagiri and Izanami kind of floods his mind.] Unless it really just is like being inside the TV.

How do you mean? Like, the way people made parts of that world when they were thrown in, or...

Kind of? I mean... it's kind of like a weird escape from reality when you think about it. Maybe it's like what happened with the fog... someone's choice to decide what we "really want" or whatever.
