[We open on a truly bizarre sight. Is it a new Pokemon never before seen? Some horrifying Frankensteinian creation?

...No, it's just Chie's Hitmonlee and Snorunt being silly. The Hitmonlee is shaking with silent laughter, while the Snorunt is trying to pretend she's above this foolishness (despite her own faint giggling).

An amused voice comes from behind the camera.] You do realize you guys look ridiculous, right? Here, Bruce, hold this for me for a minute. [The Pokégear trades hands to reveal Chie, pulling on and zipping up her jacket as she speaks.] Hi, everyone! Thought I'd check in, since it's been a while. We're all doing fine! Working hard and getting stronger, you know the drill. Although I guess these two were getting bored waiting for my shift to end. [Her brow furrows.] Hey, I just realized, that's my scarf. [She reaches past the camera to grab said scarf and sling it around her neck.]

Anyway, I wanted to say, we're heading to Goldenrod in a few days! I've got a friend there who's gonna get me past that weird tree thing. So I was just thinking, if anybody here in Violet wants to meet up and hang out, now's our chance! I've kinda been too busy training to meet people here, so I really should change that! Now, we're probably gonna leave...

[Before Chie can finish that thought, the local Nurse Joy approaches.] Excuse me, Miss Satonaka?

What's up? Oh, shoot, did I forget to clock out again?

Oh, no. I'm afraid we found this poor dear when we were doing some computer maintenance. [The nurse hands Chie a Pokéball.] He was sent to you from Goldenrod some time ago, but ended up in the wrong PC box.

Goldenrod? [Chie looks blank for a moment, but then her face lights with comprehension.] Oh! This must be the Pokémon Rise-chan was saving for me! Great, thanks! [Nurse Joy smiles and returns to her work, and Chie turns back to the gear.] I can hardly wait to see what he looks like... Okay, come on out!

[Chie tosses the ball to the ground, and poof! Out comes... an adorable Dunsparce, which immediately leaps into Chie's arms. Oh my gosh my trainer is back!!! She... doesn't take it well.] Aaugh! W-What are you, some kind of weird bug? [The Dunsparce jumps at her exclamation. What, what's going on, what's wrong? Clearly I have to hide in my trainer's jacket now!] Hey, cut it out!

[And then Chie's foot hits a little puddle left by someone coming in out of the cold, and down she goes. The Pokégear goes flying as Bruce rushes forward to try to catch her, and the feed goes black.]

[Just watch those eyes light up.] You bet I'm up for it! Just let me get everybody together... [She gathers up her Pokémon and calls them back into their balls, then stands up straight again, ready to head out.]

So what kinds of Pokémon have you caught, Souji-kun? Oh, and what's the one you said you got from me?

Just a few different things here and there. I'll show them to you after I give back yours.

[Just reaching into his bag and pulls out a Pokeball. He tosses it and out comes a Shuppet!]

This one's a Shuppet from what the Pokegear says. If I remember correctly, you named it Shadow.

[Chie's eyes widen as Shadow pops out of the ball.] Whoa... It's like a little ghost! Hey there, little guy!

[Shadow floats around her as if sizing her up, while she gets out her own Pokégear to see what it says.] Wow, it actually is a ghost... And it feeds on negative emotions?

Yeah, according to the Pokegear. Don't know if it's actually true though.

Huh, good point. There's no real guarantee these things are right, is there?

Not that I know of. You could always try it around some grumpy people, like Yosuke when he's around Teddie.

Hah! Now that'd be fun to see. Are they here in Violet City too, or are they farther along?

They should still be Goldenrod with everyone, except for Kanji and Naoto in Blackthorn.

Great! So, how would you like to catch up to them? I think it's gonna be a while before my team's ready to take on the first gym. So like I said in the video, Rise-chan's gonna let me through the shortcut up north!

Nanako and I can go along with you when Rise opens up the path. I probably need to take on the gym soon as well.

Oh, Nanako-chan! That's right, I almost forgot she was here too. It'll be great to see her again. Sounds like a plan! I'll let Rise-chan know, and we can call her up again when we're ready.

Nanako is pretty excited to see everyone again, so expect a big hug from her.

Haha, I'd have to be crazy to turn down a Nanako-chan hug. Is she doing alright? How's Johto life treating her?

She got pretty used to it quickly. I think she's pretty excited to go on an adventure with us.

Glad to hear it! We may all be stuck here, but at least we can get through it together. [All except for a certain BFF, that is. Sigh.]

[She jumps a little at that, before laughing sheepishly.] I'm that obvious, huh, Souji-kun? It's not like I want her to be stuck here too, but, y'know...

[He nods.] Speaking about that, how long has it been since I moved away from Inaba? [Since Rise is about a couple of months since he moved while he's just a couple of hours.]

We all miss her, so don't worry. I think she'll just be lonely if she's the only one back home.
