[We open on a truly bizarre sight. Is it a new Pokemon never before seen? Some horrifying Frankensteinian creation?

...No, it's just Chie's Hitmonlee and Snorunt being silly. The Hitmonlee is shaking with silent laughter, while the Snorunt is trying to pretend she's above this foolishness (despite her own faint giggling).

An amused voice comes from behind the camera.] You do realize you guys look ridiculous, right? Here, Bruce, hold this for me for a minute. [The Pokégear trades hands to reveal Chie, pulling on and zipping up her jacket as she speaks.] Hi, everyone! Thought I'd check in, since it's been a while. We're all doing fine! Working hard and getting stronger, you know the drill. Although I guess these two were getting bored waiting for my shift to end. [Her brow furrows.] Hey, I just realized, that's my scarf. [She reaches past the camera to grab said scarf and sling it around her neck.]

Anyway, I wanted to say, we're heading to Goldenrod in a few days! I've got a friend there who's gonna get me past that weird tree thing. So I was just thinking, if anybody here in Violet wants to meet up and hang out, now's our chance! I've kinda been too busy training to meet people here, so I really should change that! Now, we're probably gonna leave...

[Before Chie can finish that thought, the local Nurse Joy approaches.] Excuse me, Miss Satonaka?

What's up? Oh, shoot, did I forget to clock out again?

Oh, no. I'm afraid we found this poor dear when we were doing some computer maintenance. [The nurse hands Chie a Pokéball.] He was sent to you from Goldenrod some time ago, but ended up in the wrong PC box.

Goldenrod? [Chie looks blank for a moment, but then her face lights with comprehension.] Oh! This must be the Pokémon Rise-chan was saving for me! Great, thanks! [Nurse Joy smiles and returns to her work, and Chie turns back to the gear.] I can hardly wait to see what he looks like... Okay, come on out!

[Chie tosses the ball to the ground, and poof! Out comes... an adorable Dunsparce, which immediately leaps into Chie's arms. Oh my gosh my trainer is back!!! She... doesn't take it well.] Aaugh! W-What are you, some kind of weird bug? [The Dunsparce jumps at her exclamation. What, what's going on, what's wrong? Clearly I have to hide in my trainer's jacket now!] Hey, cut it out!

[And then Chie's foot hits a little puddle left by someone coming in out of the cold, and down she goes. The Pokégear goes flying as Bruce rushes forward to try to catch her, and the feed goes black.]

[Oh hey, there's Chie. Uh, what's with that Pokemo-- a;lsdkjfasl;df MAN DOWN MAN DOWN RUSHING OVER RUSHING OVER]

Chie, you okay?

*WELL THIS IS KIND OF FAMILIAR only it was over video before; Hayate is just kind of... staring at this scene he has stumbled upon, shifting about the Ralts in his arms before he approaches.*

Er... Do you need any help with that, Chie-san?

[When the feed comes back, Chie is found relatively unharmed, Hitmonlee at her side. The Snorunt is nowhere to be seen, but the Dunsparce is still wriggling down into the front of her jacket.]

Wha -- Souji-kun, is that you? I'm fine, I just -- cut that out! [Very reluctantly, Chie grabs the Dunsparce by his tail and pulls him out of her jacket. He trills unhappily and droops in her grasp.]

[ALRIGHT HE'S HERE AT THE POKEMON CENTER just as he gets a reply. Leader-kun doesn't wait to rush to his friends' side-- wait, what is that...worm/bug/hurrdurr thing she's hold up?]

New Pokemon?

[ aaaand she's giggling. ]

A happy reunion at last!

[She really does. Bruce has managed to catch her before she hit the ground, but she's still contending with Yosuke squirming around in her jacket.]

Hayate-kun? I-I'm fine, I just -- [She finally resorts to unzipping her jacket again and trying to get the Dunsparce down without... grabbing at it or anything.]

[Of course she is. Chie finally gets her gear turned on again, gingerly holding Yosuke away from her with one hand.]

You coulda warned me he was gonna be this... friendly. And what is he, anyway?

*fffft thank god it's just her jacket--* Whoa... Are you sure about that? He looks like a handful...

[Your guess is as good as hers, honestly. She's holding it out at arm's length and sizing it up.]

Uhh, Rise-chan sent him to me. I... guess I caught him when I was here before?

Yeah! Yeah, I'm, I'm getting better about the whole... bug... thing anyway!

[Finally she gives up and grabs him around the... body, holding him out gingerly at arm's length. He stares at her mournfully. Why won't you love me.]

*walking up next to her, looking at the Dunsparce curiously as his Ralts does the same.*

It looks a little sad...

...Really? [...Looking closer, it sure does. And now Chie feels bad.] Aw, geez, don't look at me like that! I didn't mean... You just startled me, that's all! [Yosuke looks at least a little appeased at that.]

He's a Dunsparce. You've kept him waiting for awhile, so no wonder he got impatient!

Haven't seen that one, but that reminds me. I actually have one of your Pokemon when you were here before as well.

[Oops, kinda forgot about that thing.]

Well, I remembered that much! But is he a bug, or a... Uh, hang on. [BRB, fussing around with her Pokédex.]

... He's supposed to be a snake?

*he hefts up his Ralts, who seems to be reading the mood and is perking up a bit.*

Ehe... And now he looks a bit better! Though I can understand why you were surprised, given what I walked in on.

Wow, really? [Chie passes Yosuke over to Bruce for the moment and jumps to her feet.] It's so weird to think I was here once and can't remember it...

Oh, I almost forgot! It's good to see you again, Souji-kun! We haven't really had time to talk before now, have we?

That's been happening to a few lately. No clue why though.

[And here's a smile.] Yeah, it's good to see you again too, Chie. Sorry about that. I've been running all over the place.

Yeah, apparently he's... more affectionate than I expected! [She holds him a little closer to her, looking down at him as he looks up.] Y'know, you are kinda cute, in your own way. Sorry for freaking out there. [Yosuke is satisfied with this, chirping a cheerful "Dun!"]

Yeah, that's what it says. But why the wings? I don't think I'll ever understand this place.

*d'awwwww. Hayate just smiles and nods.* I've never seen one aside from this guy here, but he is kind of cute. *This makes his Ralts staaaaare up at him, which he quickly follows up to--* Not as cute Miya though. ♥

Too weird. [She laughs and shakes her head.] Hey, don't worry about it! Seems like it's easy to get caught up with all the stuff that happens around here.

[Now that crisis has been averted, Chie finally stands up, taking a look at Miya.] Aww, she is cute! Uh, she is a she, right? It's hard to tell sometimes.

Mm, she is! *Now he's just holding the Ralts up closer to his face, and she quickly clings to his neck and nuzzles against him.* She's absolutely adorable.
