[The video opens in medias res, with a casual conversation going on in the Olivine Pokémon Center. It's not quite loud enough to hear any of the words, though. After a second or two, Chie orients the video on herself.]

Oh, hey, has anybody else noticed how the gym leaders are a little... weird? Me and my friends all challenged Jasmine today, so we could get the Surf TM and cross Route... 42, I think it was? And Jasmine gave us all the same lines from beginning to end. She was all like, "Properly tempered steel won't be made rusty by things like this!" And "You are a better trainer than me, in both skill and kindness." Like she was reading off a script or something!

But anyway, we all made it! I got Ecruteak's badge too, when we stopped there on Friday, so I'm up to four! [Chie shows off two badges to the camera.]

For anybody who's following our quest to rescue Souji-kun, we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning on the way back to Ecruteak. And from there, it's through Mahogany and on to the Ice Path! Just hold on, Souji-kun, we won't make you wait too much longer!

Yep, sure are! We needed the Surf HM she gives out, 'cause I think the routes to Mahogany have a lot of water to cross.

Huh. So maybe Jasmine really was just having an off-day or something.

Exactly! So she should have time to come up with more stuff than that!

Yeah, I mostly manage to tune it out these days. Still gets annoying sometimes, though...

When you put it like that, I don't think I want to.

[and finishes with a slight flourish.]

[Gear now slipped into her pocket, Chie looks up and grins.]

Aoko, hey! I didn't know you were in Olivine!

[She walks over.] Yeah! We've been here since it almost got flooded. How about you?

[Oh geez, this feels a little awkward, being as the last conversation they had ended with Chie storming off in anger. Buuut Rise has mentioned that they're starting to patch things up, and anyway she's a bit embarrassed about how she acted before.]

[So after a moment of flustering, it's time to snap back to normal!]

Ahaha, thanks! We won't give up until Souji-kun's back with us, safe and sound!

And I dunno... Maybe she was just having a bad day after all. Or maybe there was a glitch in her program?

[applause and a chuckle! and in a mock, high-pitched voice--]

Oh, Oshitari-sama, you are amazing!

Ugh, Whitney? Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me at all. A real person should've learned to lose better than that by now...

Oh, we took Jenny's ride back to Goldenrod when all the ditch-digging was done. But now we're getting the Surf TM so we can go pick Souji-kun up!
